Unsigned, Kamakura-Nambokucho Period (14th Century)
Sugata [configuration]: Hon-zukuri, iorimune , high shinogi, with chu-kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: Itame with ji-nie
Hamon [tempering pattern]: Suguha of nie with nijuba and sanjuba
Boshi [tip]: Yakuzume
Horimono [carvings]: Ura: the remains of a dragon and ken,
Omote: two narrow and one wide groove and bonji
Nakago [tang]: O-suriage
Shirasaya [plain wood scabbard]: in Shirasaya
Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 68.6cm

专家说明

The high shinogi, areas of flowing grain, the niju-ba and sanju-ba hamon and complex boshi are all characteristcs which help identify this blade as Yamato style work. The shape is that of an o-suriage Kamakura or Nanbokucho period tachi. The unusually long and much depleted kurikara horimono might suggest that the blade was of Buddhist ritual significance.
