The sculptor Simone Ghijsbrecht-Vanderborght (Belgian, 1888-1969) and Le Mayeur travelled together in North Africa.

The photographer of some of these pictures is Mr van den Boogaard. (see Paul de Bont, Pollok, Zwolle 1992)

It has been suggested that the Legong Dancer in the catalogue illustration is Ni Tjawan, a Balinese girl that often posed for Le Mayeur as well as Willem Hofker.
