专家说明

Gustav Wertheimer, Austrian (1847-1902) is noted as a painter in the Romantic style.

By tradition this plaque was defaced during World War II. Berlin (K.P.M.) plaques painted by A. Schertz are extant.

Cf. Christie's New York, 27 October 1998, lot 30; 24 April 2002, lot 294 and 25 October 2007, lot 517, for Berlin (K.P.M.) examples of this subject.
