A 'MANCHESTER' KASHAN CARPET

Known as 'Manchester' Kashans, and similar to the second generation 'Mohtashams', these carpets were piled far thicker than the Kashan carpets of only a few years earlier. Using a very soft kurk wool, they were woven very finely, using expensive materials, and were much sought after in the 1920s and 1930s.
