En forme de goutte, les deux faces en or repoussé sont à décor ajouré d'un couple de canards mandarins, chacun debout sur une fleur de lotus épanouie, sur un fond de rinceaux entrelacés ; or jaune 18k.

For an earlier related group of tear-drop shaped gold repoussé perfumiers dated as Song dynasty (960-1279), compare the pendant illustrated in Zhonguo Meishu Quanji, Arts and Crafts, vol.10, Silver, gold, glass and enamels, 1987, pl.41, decorated with two birds amidst flowers; compare also the Song dynasty openwork gold 'twin fish' pendant exhibited in J.J.Lally & Co's Silver and Gold in Ancient China, March 16 - April 14 2012.
