Christie’s has successfully sold Swiss art in Zurich, Paris, New York, London and Hong Kong, with major institutions acquiring masterpieces through our auction and private sale channels.
Notable acquisitions facilitated by Christie’s include Der Traum des Hirten by Ferdinand Hodler for the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Rade de Ploumanach by Félix Vallotton for the Kunstmuseum Bern, Der Holzfäller by Ferdinand Hodler for the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and Der Jungbrunnen (study) by Cuno Amiet for the Kunsthaus in Zurich.
In 2020, Christie’s Zurich held its first Swiss Art Online auction, achieving a 94% sell-through rate by value. Throughout the year, private viewings are available to collectors and institutions for select paintings offered for private sale.

- Zoë Klemme is a Specialist based in Zurich, having previously headed both the Day and First Open auctions in London. After joining Christie’s Zurich office in 2011, she worked in Business Development for both the Impressionist and Modern Department and the Post War and Contemporary Department, as well as working intensively on the sale of the Estate of Ernst Beyeler in June 2011. In 2014, she moved to London as a Junior Specialist, with a particular focus on First Open, and was appointed Head of Sale in 2016. Graduating with a degree in History of Art and Economics from University of Basel, Switzerland, Zoë undertook a semester at Université Sorbonne-Paris IV and later gained experience working at the Fondation Beyeler and Kunstmuseum Basel. A German-Swiss native, Zoë is fluent in German, English and French.
