A Meissen coffee-cup and saucer
Circa 1740, blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummer 10 to cup and 2 to saucer, gilder's H. to both pieces
The cup painted with Orientals at various pursuits on terraces with flowering shrubs, within a gilt oval quatrefoil cartouche with scrolling foliage and shaped diaper, trellis and Bttger-lustre panels, flanked by indianische Blumen, the saucer similarly decorated, the interior of the cup and the rim of the saucer with a band of interlocking scrolling foliage (handle a restored replacement, minute wear)
