This December, Christie’s Design department will offer auctions dedicated to 20th and 21st century design and masterworks in two live auctions Design and Tiffany scheduled 9-10 December.

Our Winter season kicks off with Design, the cross-category auction showcasing art and design by leading international artists and architects such as Emile Gallé, André Groult, Armand Albert Rateau, Albert Cheuret, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Royère, Alexandre Noll, Ettore Sottsass, Serge Mouille, Line Vautrin, Gio Ponti, Harry Bertoia, Isamu Noguchi, George Nakashima, Les Lalanne, and more. Works offered are from various private collections including The Collection of Dr. Thomas Chua, Property from the Estate of Ruth S. Stanton, Bertoia Masterworks from the Private Collection of Florence Knoll Bassett, and Property from the Estate of Debbie and Bud Menin amongst many more.

Tiffany our auction dedicated to the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany and his eponymous firm Tiffany Studios will present rarely seen models of Tiffany lighting including an early ‘Elaborate Peony’, a rare and important ‘Apple Blossom’, and exceptional examples of beloved patterns such as the ‘Clematis’, ‘Laburnum’ and ‘Tulip’. Highlighted collections amongst the sale include the continuation of The Collection of Dr. Thomas Chua, A Masterpiece from the Silverman Collection, The Collection of Dr. Robert B. Koehl, and several important private consignments.
