香港
Kim Yu joined Christie’s Taiwan in 1998 and is currently based in Hong Kong.
He began studying traditional Chinese painting at the age of 15 in Taiwan as an apprentice, training under Sun Yunsheng, a pupil of the 20th-century master Zhang Daqian. Kim is widely recognized in the industry as a leading authority on Classical Chinese painting.
A key business getter for the Chinese Paintings Department, Kim works closely with collectors across Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Americas, advising on acquisitions and sales. Over his distinguished career of more than two decades at Christie’s, he has led numerous landmark transactions. In 2025, the department achieved another milestone with the sale of River Pavilion, Mountain Colours by Ni Zan (1301–1374), which sold for HK$159,950,000.
Kim has held several senior leadership roles within the department, including International Specialist Head of Chinese Paintings and Head of Department. In his current role, he focuses on cultivating relationships with the department’s most important clients and continues to drive business development at the highest level.
