Christie’s has a long history of selling musical instruments by some of the world’s finest luthiers—from Antonio Stradivari, and Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, to Antonio de Torres Juadon, and Hermann Hauser. We have also held auctions of iconic musical instruments owned by legendary musicians across many musical genres, including John Lennon's upright Broadwood upright piano, Miles Davis' 'Moon and Stars' Trumpet, John Coltrane's Yamaha saxophone and the iconic guitar collections of Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler and David Gilmour.
