Christie’s has successfully sold Swiss art in Zurich, Paris, New York, London and Hong Kong, with major institutions acquiring masterpieces through our auction and private sale channels.
Notable acquisitions facilitated by Christie’s include Der Traum des Hirten by Ferdinand Hodler for the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Rade de Ploumanach by Félix Vallotton for the Kunstmuseum Bern, Der Holzfäller by Ferdinand Hodler for the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and Der Jungbrunnen (study) by Cuno Amiet for the Kunsthaus in Zurich.
In 2020, Christie’s Zurich held its first Swiss Art Online auction, achieving a 94% sell-through rate by value. Throughout the year, private viewings are available to collectors and institutions for select paintings offered for private sale.
