Christie’s Design sales celebrate a century of creation. The spring season opens with the 26–27 May sale in Paris, bringing together major 20th- and 21st-century works that highlight the vitality of design as a discipline. Focused on form, it explores how designers have engaged with line, structure, and material from Art Deco to today. The sale begins with around fifty works from the Art Deco Collection of Hélène and Gérard Doux, embodying the elegance of the interwar period, with works by Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann, Jean Dunand, and Armand-Albert Rateau. Also featured are works by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne, including Pomme de Ben, alongside pieces by Line Vautrin, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Georges Jouve, and Ron Arad. Murano glass from Liliane Fawcett’s collection completes the sale.

The season continues on 10 June in New York with exceptional works by leading designers and artists from around the world. The sale brings together iconic works from American figures such as Harry Bertoia to French visionaries including Alberto and Diego Giacometti alongside Brazilian masters such as Joaquim Tenreiro, among others. Anchoring the season is Defined Space: The Collection of Henry S. McNeil, Jr. offered as a continuation of his visionary engagement with Minimalism, extending from fine art to the decorative arts. The sale is further enriched by seminal works from female artists such as Ingrid Donat and Line Vautrin, and important works from Tiffany Studios, including The Boyd Family Memorial Window (The Falls) from the Second Congregational Church in Winsted, Connecticut.
