2° (340 x 200mm). 33 folding engraved plates after Walter. Near-contemporary green calf gilt, large arms of the Marquess of Bute centrally-placed on covers, g.e. (neatly rebacked, some discolouration of leather). Provenance: 2nd Marquess of Bute.
A generally fine copy of an interesting monograph on bridge-building: ranging from simple wooden structures to elaborate constructions of brick and stone. Cf. Berlin Kat. 3557 (an undated 'improved' edition, with a different title and one extra plate).
