專家說明

Jean-Georges Schlichtig (d.1782) became maître in 1765. He specialised in the Transitional style, utilising ivory in his marquetry, usually featuring figures in architectural landscapes.

This commode is a copy of the celebrated model made for Queen Marie-Antoinette, inlaid with her cypher in mother-of-pearl, later given by Moïse de Camondo to the Louvre.
