Clos Vougeot--Vintage 1985
Côte de Nuits, Leroy
Lot 1019: slightly soiled labels. Lot 1020: bin soiled labels
Notes from a Zachys/Christie's pre-sale tasting, April 1998 : maturing color, a sort of mocha prune/garnet. Fantastically ripe, rich forward pinot aromas. Elegant, fully expressed flavors of beetrooty pinot, with a long, gentle finish. Am outstanding wine, perfect now. FH
