An Early Great War M.C. Group of Three to Captain J. Paterson, London Regiment, Military Cross, G.V.R., the reverse privately engraved, 'J. Paterson, Capt., 14/Lond. Regt., 23rd June 1915'; British War and Victory Medals (Capt.), good very fine, mounted as worn, although lacking 1914 Star (3)

M.C. London Gazette 23.6.1915.

Captain J. Paterson, M.C., originally entered the French Theatre of War with the 14th County of London Battalion, the London Scottish, in late 1914, and was present in the Messines operations.

Given the missing 1914 Star, and the fact that there are a number of Captain J. Paterson's on the 1914-18 MIC Roll in the P.R.O., it is possible that this is a 're-constituted' Group.
