With openwork foliate cast back and sides, the front slat of iron, stamped COALBROOKDALE, the reverse with diamond design patent registration stamp and indistinctly stamped No. 171578, the underside of the rear iron slat stamped No. 36-5Ft, later wood slats and repainted green overall

The design for this seat was registered and patented by the Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry at the Public Record Office on 8th February 1864 and is seat number 36 in their 1875 Coalbrookdale Castings Catalogue, Section III, page 255.
