專家說明
Previously attributed to Girolamo da Treviso, il Giovane (1497-1554) by Bernard Berenson, this picture has subsequently been compared with a small Mars and Venus in the Brooklyn Museum of Art, once thought to be by Palma Vecchio, but recently attributed to Giulio Campagnola (K. Christiansen, 'A proposal for Giulio Campagnola pittore', in Hommage à Michel Laclotte: Études sur la peinture du Moyen Age et de la Renaissance, Milan and Paris, 1994, pp. 341-5, pl. XIV). A further attribution has also been suggested for the present work by Stefano Tumidei to Lorenzo Leonbruno (1489-c. 1537), a Mantuan follower of Lorenzo Costa (see M. Zancolich, op. cit., p. 108).
