專家說明

In 1953, Rolex set the base of an unequalled success story with the launch of the first Submariner model. Originally promoted as "the diver's friend", the Submariner became soon the world's most legendary tool watch and, generations later, is still enjoying wide popularity in its actual version.

Reference 6538, the successor of the first Submariner model ref. 6204, was launched in 1959 and the first watch to be rated at 660 feet or 200 meters.

The model is illustrated in Rolex Submariner by Guido Mondani & Lele Ravagnani, pp. 90 & 91.
