Shimada Yoshisuke (or Gisuke) of Suruga Province (present-day Shizuoka Prefecture) worked in the late Soshu style from around the 1520's, although late Bizen influence is seen on some of his blades. Yoshisuke II was also skilful in the Soshu style, and was followed by a number of later generations.
