MAUSER, NO VISIBLE SERIAL NUMBER, DATED 1307 A.H (FOR 1889 A.D.)
With sighted barrel stamped with the tughra of Sultan Abdulhamid II at the breech, full length tubular magazine, receiver signed and dated in Turkish script along the side-wall, downturned bolt-handle, full length regulation walnut stock crudely incised 'CARTER S-T' on the left side of the butt, and regulation iron mounts including sling mounts and single spring-held barrel-band, the right side of the butt with painted museum inventory number '10 100', numerous Turkish inspection marks
