AN IVORY TWIN-HANDLED VASE AND COVER
19TH CENTURY
Modelled in the form of a European goblet, the vessel is flanked by a pair of handles shaped as dragons. The body of the vase is intricately carved with a busy figural scene, with a continuous band of finely rendered floral scrolls encircling the foot of the vase. There is another floral band around the mouth rim of the cover, with the finial surmounted by a coiled dragon surrounded by scrolling clouds.
