On October 24, 1994, the Lange 1 was unveiled, signifying the rebirth of A. Lange & Söhne and creating what would go on to become one of the most recognizable designs in contemporary watchmaking. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this emblematic asymmetrical time display, the manufacture unveiled a quartet of limited-edition models. Each version was available in both the traditional Lange 1 format and the more compact Little Lange 1. It was presented in two different colorways: black onyx with a platinum case or a blue dial with a pink gold case, as demonstrated by the present timepiece.
The present timepiece, in its Little Lange 1 configuration, is distinguished by its streamlined case profile. Unlike the standard Lange 1, it omits the pusher at 10 o’clock on the case flank, replacing it with a corrector for adjusting the signature outsize date display.
The watch is powered by the manually wound calibre L121.1, developed in-house by A. Lange & Söhne. The movement supports the model's signature indications, such as the off-center time display, power reserve indicator, and the well-known outsize date. It operates at a frequency of 3 Hz and provides a power reserve of roughly 72 hours. With a hand-engraved balance cock and plates and bridges made of untreated German silver, it is finished to the highest standards and demonstrates the manufacturer's dedication to traditional Saxon watchmaking.
